At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 29 September 2026, Council will consider Agenda Item 10.5.2 – Marlston Jetty Removal. The item is currently before Council for consideration. No decision has been made regarding the future of Marlston Jetty. Any recommendations contained within the agenda report remain subject to Council deliberation and formal resolution. The City of Bunbury is investigating what a new regional art gallery could mean for Bunbury and the South West - including the possible benefits, the potential cost, and whether the project could attract support from outside government and philanthropic partners. The City of Bunbury is proposing to enter a joint venture to develop the former Punchbowl caravan park site (Lot 211 and Lot 501 Holywell Street, South Bunbury), providing increased housing supply including permanent residential and short-term accommodation use. Council will now consider entering into a Joint Venture Agreement at the Ordinary Council Meeting on 29 September 2026.

A much-loved community facility for over two decades, the Pelican Point Boat Ramp and Fishing Platform is a step closer to renewal, with the detailed engineering design for the upgrade now complete. The completion of the design phase means the project is now construction ready, positioning the City of Bunbury to seek funding and progress this important upgrade for the community and visitors.

A landmark hotel development has been six years in the making for Bunbury's City Centre. The planned 15-storey development at Lot 3 Blair Street will deliver 250 hotel rooms, two ground floor restaurants, a rooftop bar and restaurant, and a day spa - new spaces for our community to enjoy and a significant boost to Bunbury's tourism offering. Bunbury City Council has resolved not to proceed with the proposed sale of the vacant, residentially-zoned lot at 89 Beach Road, South Bunbury, following consideration at its Ordinary Council Meeting on 18 August 2026. The proposal formed part of the City's strategic land review and was publicly advertised, attracting 210 submissions, all of which were considered by Council as part of its decision. This lot was not part of Big Swamp Nature Reserve, and had been zoned Residential since 2015. The site will remain in City ownership, with Council requesting the CEO report back by the end of 2026 with options for rezoning the land to public open space.
