AFL games at Hands Memorial Oval
In June 2025, North Melbourne took on West Coast in the first Premiership season game to be held in regional WA at Hands Oval. The stadium has previously hosted four pre-season matches: a West Coast-Adelaide clash in 1991 and Fremantle games against Carlton in 2009, and the Western Bulldogs in 2011. In March 2026, we also hosted the AAMI Community Cup where 7000 people watched the Roos take on the Eagles in a thrilling pre-season match.
As part of a three-year deal to host the AFL matches in 2025, 2026 and 2027, the State Government has committed to $5.7 million in upgrades to our newly developed Hands Memorial Oval precinct. This is on top of the $19.5 million already spent on this impressive community asset.

How many tickets are available for community members (non-members)?
There will be 12,000 general admission tickets released. Tickets are subject to availability. The AFL allocates tickets for members, then all unallocated tickets are available for the general public.
I live in Bunbury, do I get a preference for tickets?
No, there is no official ticket preference for people based on where they live. Tickets for the AFL Premiership match are released to the general public and sell out very quickly due to high demand.
How much are tickets and where can I get them from?
Tickets are sold as General Admission Standing with prices ranging from $35.00-$19.00 depending on concession.

Do Fremantle and North Melbourne 2026 Season Members get free, priority access to the game?
Ticket allocation is managed by the AFL and member clubs.
Will the game be on TV?
The match will be broadcast on Kayo, Foxtel and Channel 7.
Do I have to print my ticket?
You don’t have to print your ticket, as long as you have your ticket’s bar code on game day.
What time do gates open, and where are the gates located?
Gates will open at 10:45am and are located on Halsey St and Clarke St
Will there be seating?
All tickets are sold as General Admission (Standing). Holding a ticket does not guarantee seating on the day. A limited number of grandstands with unallocated seating will be available. Seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons who access a grandstand will receive a coloured wristband linked to that specific grandstand. This wristband allows patrons to temporarily leave and return to the same grandstand without their seat being taken. Please note that wristbands do not allocate a specific seat number, but confirm that a seat is available within that grandstand. Seating within the Hands Memorial Oval stadium is fully allocated for the AFL and the teams and is not available to the public. For the safety of all patrons, chairs (including folding chairs of any height), prams, strollers and coolers are not permitted inside the venue, in accordance with the Conditions of Entry.
How many people can the grounds fit?
The venue has capacity for roughly 14,000 people, but the tickets are subject to availability.
I live close to Hands Oval; will I still have access to my house to come and go as I please?
Yes, local residents in the area will still be able to access their properties. Traffic management will be in place and while all efforts will be made to minimise disruptions, there may be some delays in the area.
Why can’t I take a pram or chair into the event?
For the safety of all patrons, prams, strollers, chairs (including folding chairs of all heights) and coolers are not permitted in the venue, as per the Conditions of Entry.
Mobility walkers that have built-in seats will be allowed.
Will there be food vendors and bar facilities at the stadium?
Yes, there will be a variety of food options as well as several operating bar services and cool drink stations. Water refill stations will be available free of charge.
Can I smoke or vape at the venue?
No, the entire Hands Oval Memorial Precinct is a smoke and vape free area.
Will there be cashless facilities at the game?
There will be both card and cash payment options at the venue.
Please note that no ATM’s will be available.
Can I watch the game from outside the fence?
There will be scrim in place, restricting views of the game from the outside the fence.
Is it OK to bring a cushion or picnic rug to sit on?
It is okay to bring these to the game, however due to limited spaces for seating you may be asked to remove them.
Can I bring my own snacks and drinks if they are in a small cooler bag?
As per the Conditions of Entry, coolers are not permitted in the venue. Re-usable empty bottles that you can re-fill once inside the venue are permissible, to assist with reducing waste, however food is not permitted.
If I have a visitor coming to visit but my street is closed for residents only, how do I get my visitor to get to my house? They won’t have any proof of address as they are visiting.
Due to event safety, please limit your visitors during the event. Visitors can still access your home. Ask them to tell traffic controllers which address they’re visiting when they arrive. Access will be provided where safe and as directed by traffic management.
Is there a curtain-raiser game beforehand?
No, to ensure the oval remains in the best possible state for the game there will not be a curtain-raiser beforehand.
Will there be parking?
Parking within Hands Memorial Oval is restricted to specifically permitted attendees only.
We encourage all spectators to park at Kelly Park and use the free shuttle to get to and from Hands Oval.
Please do not park in neighbouring streets.
Can I get public transport to the game?
Yes, taking public transport is the preferred method of getting to and from the game. The Public Transport Authority will be providing free shuttle bus services and you should check the Transregional website for bus routes, times and planning your journey (normal fees apply).
There will also be free shuttle buses to and from the designated car park for the event – Kelly Park. Please park at Kelly park and jump on a complimentary bus to arrive at the Oval.
Buses will commence drop off to the oval before the gates open, a specific time will be confirmed closer to the day.
Where are the free shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off points?
The free shuttle bus to transport people to/from the game will be available. The pick up point is at Kelly Park on Xavier St with the drop off on Halsey St. This is reversed for the end of the game. Please ensure you follow all instructions from staff and parking officials. Further information regarding bus times will be available soon.
Can I park on neighbouring streets?
No, out of respect for the South Bunbury residents living in proximity to the ground, we ask that event attendees do not park on the neighbouring streets.
Which roads are closed on game day?
To help keep our community safe, there will be a number of road closures in place. The following roads will be closed:
– Spencer St from Constitution St to and including Halsey St
– Halsey St
– Clarke St
The following roads will be altered:
– Blair St (both directions)
Detours and traffic management will be in place. We ask road users to please avoid the area if you can, and follow traffic and safety instructions in the area
Is there a drop off zone?
Yes, on Constitution St there will be a ‘Kiss and drop’ location to allow attendees to be safely dropped off near Hands Oval.
Will there be seating for ACROD permit holders?
ACROD permit holders and patrons who rely on a wheelchair for mobility are encouraged to identify their accessibility requirements at the time of ticket booking to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made. There will be three designated ACROD viewing platforms located around the oval, available for ACROD permit holders and one carer plus ACROD viewing spaces on the pavilion. More information regarding accessibility can be found on our event page. Mobility walkers with built-in seats are permitted.
Is the event accessible for those with a disability or low mobility?
There will be designated access friendly areas, accessible toilets and ACROD parking available.
When booking a ticket, there is an option to book accessible seating tickets, along with an accompanying adult ticket.
Limited, dedicated ACROD parking will be available. Information will be provided closer to the event. Only vehicles clearly displaying a valid ACROD permit can access (through road closures) and park in an ACROD bay.

Is there ACROD-accessible parking? Where is it?
Yes, there is ACROD parking. This will be confirmed shortly
