BUSH FIRES ACT 1954 - NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF PROHIBITED BURNING PERIOD EXERCISE OF DELEGATED AUTHORITY
Section 17 (7) and (7B) of the Bush Fires Act 1954 enables a Local Government to vary the Prohibited Burning Period under the Act due to seasonal conditions by periods not exceeding 14 days.
The Bush Fires Act also enables a Local Government by resolution to delegate to it's Chief Bush Fire Control Officer these powers and duties.
In accordance with the City of Bunbury delegation, the variation of Prohibited and Restricted Burning Times, notice is given that the Prohibited Burning Period for the land contained in the City of Bunbury is to be extended from 24 March 2026 until the 10 April 2026 inclusive, and is subject to seasonal conditions that can be further extended.
