Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone, all visitors of the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery and the surrounding areas agree to comply with the gallery's Code of Conduct and Conditions of Entry, as set out below.

CODE OF CONDUCT

To support a safe and welcoming environment, all visitors are expected to:

  • Respect the rights of others to feel safe and welcome, including staff and other visitors.
  • Follow all reasonable requests from gallery staff to modify inappropriate behaviour.
  • Leave the gallery when requested by a staff member.
  • Handle all furnishings, collection items, and equipment with care.

  • When visiting Bunbury Regional Art Gallery, users must not:

    • Engage in disorderly, indecent, offensive, or unlawful behaviour.
    • Cause fear, distress, or discomfort to staff or other library users.
    • Assault, threaten, intimidate, insult, or harass any person, physically or verbally.
    • Create excessive noise that disrupts other users.
    • Smoke or vape, or consume or be visibly affected by alcohol.
    • Consume, administer, sell, or be visibly affected by illicit substances.
    • Use audio or visual recording devices, including taking photos or videos, without prior approval and the explicit consent of all personsinvolved.
    • Take photos or videos of individuals without their consent.
    • Distribute petitions, surveys, or promotional material, unless part of an endorsed Council activity.
    • Bring animals into the gallery, except for certified guide, hearing, or assistance animals.
    • Leave personal items unattended at any time.
    • Wear attire that is inappropriate, unsafe, or displays offensive, discriminatory, or explicit images or language.
    • Enter without wearing appropriate footwear, or remove footwear at any time.
    • Climb on or sit on shelving, counters, or other surfaces not designed for seating.
  • Use of public Wi-Fi, and other technology must comply with gallery policies and applicable laws.

  • The Bunbury Regional Art Gallery welcomes and encourages children of all ages to use its facilities and services.

    For the safety and comfort of all visitors, children under 12 years of age must be accompanied and actively supervised by a responsible adult at all times whilst in the gallery.

    Active supervision requires that the responsible adult must be within sight of their child at all times. Gallery staff are unable to undertake supervision responsibilities when children and young people enter the gallery. Responsible adults visiting the gallery are asked to observe the following guidelines:

    • Supervise your child at all times whilst using the facilities, including use of the public Wi-Fi.
    • Keep food and drinks away from all exhibitions and displays.
    • Hot drinks are not allowed near the exhibitions and displays.
    • For safety reasons, children are required to use the furniture provided appropriately for its intended use and are not to climb on.
    • Enforce that display furniture are not to be climbed on, over or under.
    • Please tidy areas you have used before leaving.

    Children aged over 12 years may visit BRAG without being supervised provided they maintain acceptable behaviour at all times.

  • CCTV cameras operate throughout the gallery. By entering the gallery, you acknowledge that your behaviour may be recorded.
