What is STEAM?

STEAM Education is an approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking. Explore the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths through hands-on activities and programs. STEAM provides cross-subject learning opportunities that encourage students to question and discuss the world around them. Children will work collaboratively to problem solve, be creative, think critically and learn skills that are needed to engage in experiential learning, persist in problem-solving, embrace collaboration, and work through the creative process. These are the innovators, educators, leaders, and learners of the 21st century!

Little Explorers (18mths – 4yrs)
Join us as we learn through play using STEAM and Sensory play to explore and discover the world around us. Ideal for toddlers and children aged 18 months - 4 years old. For young children, Science encourages investigation and answering questions, often involving experimentation. Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates a young child's senses of touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing, as well as anything which engages movement and balance. Little Explorers sessions are held weekly on Mondays at 10:30am – 11:00am.

STEAM Junior (4-8yrs)
Is an after-school program designed for children 4-8 years which runs each Tuesday 3.30pm – 4.15pm. STEAM Junior incorporates a mixture of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math related activities. Each week is different, and no week is ever the same.

STEAM Discoverers (8-15yrs)
Is an after-school program designed for children 8-15 years which runs each Thursday from 3.30pm – 4.30pm. This program incorporates the libraries STEAM Club, Lego Club, Tech Club and Art Club.  Each week targets a different element of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths). One week kids can be protecting eggs from the harsh elements of gravity and the next week they could be programming robots to walk and talk or exploring the mystical art of illusions.  This program includes an end of year exhibition.
